Rise of Olympus

Rise of Olympus is a 5x5 online slot by Play’n Go. Instead of the traditional paylines, it features a Cluster Pays mechanism, with groups of three or more matching symbols awarding prizes.

And I’m sure you don’t need Foxy to tell you that the theme is all about the Greek gods. There are three of them putting in an appearance on the reels, both as pay symbols, and higher powers with the ability to transform a losing spin into a winning one. 

Symbols are all themed and include bolts of lightning, tridents, helmets and harps as the low pays. The premium symbols are the three Greek Gods - Hades, Poseidon and Zeus. The betting range is from 0.20 to 100.00. 

We're not used to seeing Cluster Pay type slots featuring a Wild, but Play’n Go has decided to do things a little differently. The Wild is the main and only feature symbol in the Rise of Olympus slot. It helps form wins by standing in for regular symbols to help form winning clusters and will also payout 50 x the stake for a cluster of five. It also has a hand in triggering the Free Spins, which you can read about below.  

As well as cluster pays, the Rise of Olympus also has cascading reels. These work in the usual way, replacing winning symbols and tumbling new ones onto the grid, but there's an added twist. During a cascade, the middle position on the grid is occupied by a Wild. The win multiplier increases by + 1 with every cascade win and resets at the end of the feature in the base game. 

The Hand of God feature can trigger randomly after a losing spin in the base game. Here any of the three gods can appear to show off their powers and modify the reels according to their special abilities, replacing symbols, adding Wilds, or destroying reels to help form a win and possibly trigger the Free Spins.

The Wrath of Olympus is another base game bonus feature. This one will trigger after a five of a kind win with any of the gods. They will then all appear in turn to modify the reels with their powers. 

The Free Spins game is activated when the grid is completely covered in Wilds. Here the player can choose which god and associated modifier they want to help boost the win potential, and this will kick in after every losing spin during the round.
